An ITN (Importer Transaction Number) is a crucial component in the process of importing a vehicle into Canada. You will always need to provide:

Step 2: Declare your crossing information
Let us know:
- The border crossing (port of entry) you plan to use. Note: You can only cross at the specific border crossing that you specify.
- The exact date you plan to cross.
- If you are using a transport company, provide the carrier’s company name and contact information.
Step 3: Wait 72 hours
- BorderBuddy will submit the necessary paperwork to US Customs and Border Patrol (US CBP) and wait for their response. Once CBP approves the export, the 72-hour countdown will begin. BorderBuddy will then email you the paperwork, and you will have the option to either proceed with a full import through BorderBuddy or self-declare your vehicle.
- Please make sure to inform BorderBuddy if any of your information changes before you cross, as all changes must be submitted to the US and Canada Customs before you physically cross the border. This includes changes such as the day and the border crossing port you plan to use.
