What is ACE CBP?
The customs and brokerage industry tends to use a LOT of acronyms. ACE CBP is a popular acronym. ACE stands for Automated Commercial Environment and CBP is U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
What does ACE do?
ACE is the system or platform that importers, exporters, and carriers transmit trade and cargo data. If a shipment is crossing the border into the USA, the data for that shipment is transmitted to and from the ACE platform.
What is ACE e-Manifest or ACE Manifest?
In the old days, manifests, or the documents that declared the cargo on trucks, ships, airplanes, etc., were done in a paper format. Nowadays, manifests are done electronically and that is what an e-Manifest is.
